The apex court is to determine the legality or otherwise of joining ex-governor of Imo State Chief Ikedi Ohakim in the suit challenging Okorocha as ordered by the Appeal Court. The court would also determine the constitutionality of supplementary election that brought into power the Okorocha administration.
Senator Ifeanyichukwu Araraume had dragged Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to Supreme Court challenging the legality of the 2011 Supplementary election conducted in the state that saw the emergence of Governor Okorocha just after the Appeal Court judgment on the governorship election between Okorocha and Ohakim which went in favour of the governor.
Our correspondent observed yesterday that the Douglas House which is the seat of power in Imo State has been deserted following the relocation of the governor, the deputy and all the appointees to Abuja for the expected ruling.
As at the time of filing this report, effort was made to contact the spokesman to Governor Rochas Okorocha Mr. Chinedu Offor the deputy chief of staff Government House but he refused picking calls put across to him.
