Technical crew of Kano Pillars’ cadet teams sacked

The management of Kano Pillars football club has sacked the technical crew of Junior Kano Pillars, U-15, U-13 and U-12 youth teams from their posts with immediate effect.

This was disclosed by the Chairman of the club, Babangida Umar ‘Little’ in a statement signed by the Media Officer of the club, Rilwanu Idris Malikawa.

According to the statement, the decision which has set tongues wagging also affected all the backroom staff that are under contract with the youth teams.

The chairman said the decision followed the expirations of their one year contractual agreements with his board, which he said ended after the completion of 2022/2023 football season.

He said the outgoing crew and other supporting staff that are interested to continue working with teams should reapply for considerations.

The Chairman thanked the outgoing personnel for their contributions in promoting youth football at various cadres of the club and wished them success in their future endeavours.

It will be recalled that a similar decision was made in the case of the technical crew of the senior team after the ‘Masu gida boys’ picked the ticket to return to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

The technical crew led by former manager, Evans Ogenyi, was asked to reapply if interested in continuing with the club.

The Management said it had become necessary to dissolve the technical crew because the coaches signed only a year’s contract which expired at the end of the 2023 season.
