The workshop was part of a capacity building efforts for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) owners designed to bridge the knowledge and skills deficit and gap in the nation’s SME sector.
Welcoming participants, Skye Bank’s Executive Director, South-South/Retail Banking, Mrs. Ibiye Ekong, advised customers of the bank to take advantage of the different financial products available at the bank for SMEs, including the Central Bank’s N200 billion SME loan scheme, to grow and transform their businesses.
In his address, the Group President, Everyday Group of Companies, Dr. Charles Dimwobi, underscored the importance of effective business planning and creativity in business development.
“Competition is an important part of the business equation. Instead of wishing away competition or trying to establish a monopoly, a successful small business has to identify and maximize opportunities,” he said.
Some of the participants commended the bank for the initiative which offers a platform where several issues relating to Skye Bank Plc and the Banking industry in Nigeria could be addressed by the bank’s representatives.
