Shop owners, market allottees and other business owners in the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) have been urged to recertify their documents with the AMAC Geographic Information System and Data Capture Centre for efficient planning.
AMAC Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu Candido, made this plea while commissioning the centre at AMAC’s annex office in Apo last Thursday.
“The AMAC Geographic and Information System is something that everybody will be proud of,” he said, adding that residents should utilise the centre and ensure their records are properly captured to avail themselves of several opportunities.
“The stipend that you may be asked to pay will go a long way to add value and meaning to what you are holding, whatever you are holding as allocation papers are just mere papers they do not have any authority,” he said.
“This is a challenge for all of us to do the right thing at the right time and I want to call on everyone to be the change we want to see and this data centre is one of those changes we are advocating for,” he said.
The MD/CEO AppSoft-IT Limited, Prince Michael Orizu, while commending the council boss for the innovation in market administration in the area council said the centre would be the hub from where the council can launch its operations.
“This would allow AMAC to manage all its markets and shop owners under one platform. It would help in planning on improving utilities for the market,” he said.
