The Chairman, Kano State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSEIC), Professor Garba Ibrahim Sheka has dispelled rumours that he has resigned from his position.
Professor Sheka told Daily Trust on phone on Wednesday that he was still chairman of the state electoral commission and that the story of his purported resignation was untrue and uncalled-for.
He said, “I have been hearing these rumours for the past three days. But I can tell you that I am still holding my position as chairman of the state independent electoral commission. I did not resign and nobody ask me to resign”
“As I am speaking to you now, I am in Abuja for an official assignment related to KANSIEC. So, it is not true that I resign from my position. In fact, there was nothing like that,” he concluded.
There had been speculations in the state that Professor Sheka has resigned from his position as chairman of the state electoral commission.
