Nyako plans dams to curtail farmers-herders clashes
By Terkula Igidi
Senator Abdul-Aziz Nyako who represents the Adamawa Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly has promised to construct 14 mini water earth dams in order to avert incessant farmers-herdsmen clashes in the state.
Speaking to newsmen in Abuja, Nyako said the water dams would be constructed as his contribution to the state as efforts are geared towards ending farmers-herders clashes.
He said the dams would provide water during the dry season, which he said is usually the time clashes between farmers and herdsmen occur.
“It is usually when herders move their cattle along the Benue valley in search of water and green vegetation that crises between the two groups erupt,’ the senator said, adding that two dams would be constructed in the seven local government areas making up his constituency, while the remaining ones would be spread across the rest of the state.
