The exercise is holding at the board’s office in Wuse Zone 5, Abuja.
Speaking on the exercise, Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC), Mr. John Kennedy Opara, told the pilgrims to ensure that information they provided were true and accurate as this was the way the Commission has been able to ascertain who is qualified to go as well as bring absconding cases to zero level.
“Please answer simple questions correctly and note that some people may be disqualified for health reasons and such slots are not transferable.
Pregnant women are not allowed to embark on the journey and should therefore not apply in the first place,” he added.
He cautioned that those who have previously embarked on the journey will not be allowed to go a second time to give room for the first timers, except they are self-sponsored.
Chairman of the FCT Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Dr. Israel Akanji, said he expected that the pilgrims will use the opportunity to have utmost encounter with God as each of them will be going with their unique requests and prayers.
At least 30, 000 pilgrims are expected to go on pilgrimage nationwide this year.
