The president spoke in his opening remarks at the World Economic Forum on Africa (WEFA) holding in Abuja.
Jonathan, before reading his speech at the global event, took time to thank world leaders for choosing to attend the event at a time Nigeria is undergoing unprecedented security challenges.
The president acknowledged the support of the international community in the ongoing rescue operation of the abducted girls.
According to Jonathan, if the world leaders and the participants had refused to attend the forum, the terrorists would have jubilated and committed more havoc.
“Let me first thank the world leaders and our development partners for attending this world economic forum at a time our country is facing terrorist attacks. I thank the international community for supporting us in the fight against terrorism. The governments of US, UK, China and France have also spoken to me and expressed their support on the rescue of the abducted girls. I believe that the kidnap of these girls will be the beginning of the end of terror in Nigeria”, Jonathan said.
