Future Unity Glanvils Pensions Ltd (FUG) has expressed worry about pensioners receiving scam messages about non existing promotion by pension fund administrators
This is coming after FUG debunked claims in an SMS message that it is offering an all-expense paid trip to United Kingdom to its subscribers
News were rift about SMS messages which made round within the week about an ongoing promotion by the pension fund administrator that customers are being rewarded with an overseas trip as a mark of their loyalty
In a swift response, FUG also sent out bulk SMS to all its subscribers denying the claim and asking its subscribers to disregard the SMS
The SMS read: “Dear Customer, Please disregard the SMS notifying you of being selected for an annual all-expense paid trip to United Kingdom. This is not from FUG Pensions. It is a scam.”
An FUG management official who preferred anonymity said: “it’s a disturbing development because we also discovered that other people outside FUG also got the scam message which implies that subscribers’ information may have been mismanaged somewhere outside our control.
“We are also pleased to know that only a fraction of our client got that dubious information and we have taken action to alert all our clientele”, he added.
