Speaking during the commissioning of the Kano office of the bank yesterday, Olaoluwa said the former Speaker benefited from the loan through his Rumbu Sacks Nigeria limited.
The Managing Director, who did not disclose the amount the former speaker collected, said chairman of Amasco group companies also benefited from the loan which he said was conceived to stimulate businesses in Kano State.
He said another set of 167 loans totalling N499.1 million have been approved and that 595 and 425 indirect jobs have been created through the loan.
Olaoluwa also said the bank is currently partnering ten SME-friendly banks to provide working capital for BOI customers at a negotiated interest rate of six per cent.
In pursuit of inclusive growth, he said the bank has identified ten SME clusters in Kano State with the aim of extending financial support to entrepreneurs operating the businesses.
Commissioning the BOI Kano office, Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje said commerce and production are key areas that should be given support for the revival of the country’s economy.
