The Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) and Association of Agricultural and Industrial Entrepreneurs of Nigeria (AIEN) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance the production and utilization of agro-raw materials and products for domestic industries and export.
Speaking after signing the MoU in Abuja, the Director-General of RMRDC, Dr Hussain Doko Ibrahim said the agency would provide technical support while the AIEN would provide the boots on ground for targeted raw materials and products.
He said the agriculture entrepreneurs would also provide guarantee for off-takers to ensure the success of the collaboration.
The AIEN President, Chukwu Wachuku, said the collaboration would create massive employment and wealth through public private partnership initiative.
He said it would also generate the much needed foreign exchange in the non-oil sector of the country’s economy.
