The Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, has asked researchers in Africa to solve the enormous problems confronting science, technology and engineering using mathematics.
Adamu stated this in Abuja at the four-day international symposium organized by the African Academy of Sciences (AAS) and African Mathematical Union.
The minister, represented by a director in the ministry, Mrs. Elizabeth Igalagbai said that mathematicians should help provide solutions to the problems in science and engineering.
“Without mathematics, there is no modern technology and without modern technology there is no modern society.”
