They spoke following November 18 religious crisis that rocked Ibi local government area.
In a statement signed by the chairman of the Southern Taraba Senatorial District, Seth Philip Ikaa, they said they have been co-existing in peace and harmony over the years regardless of tribe and religion, wondering how and when religious acrimony has come in.
The statement called on the people of Ibi local government area in particular and the entire state not to allow religion, politics and primordial sentiments be used to destroy lives and property or divide them.
They called on government to set up a rescue team with life-saving supplies, temporary shelters and basic needs to meet the needs of the victims of the crisis.
They called on their people to watch out for those they described as agents of destruction who will stop at nothing to forment trouble, to destabilize and divide the people as a game plan towards 2015.
