Head of Public Relations FCT Health and Human Services Secretariat, Badaru Salisu Yakasai, said six of such remains have been collected by relatives, while two of the remaining ones in the mortuary are difficult to identify.
He said the Chief Medical Director of the Hospital, Dr AbubakarAhmadu, informed that out of the 26 living patients admitted in the hospital, six were operated and are doing well, while a baby victim has been reunited with her mother in another hospital.
Yakasai stated further that two victims were referred to Primus and Wuse District Hospitals, while three with minor injuries requested to be discharged. He said the CMD said between Monday and Tuesday, another five were discharged, making the total of discharged patients eight.
According to him, the total number of patients still admitted in the hospital as at Tuesday is 15 and they are responding to treatment. He said most of the patients had surgeries and their healing processes might take up to two weeks.
Some of the blast victims however commended the FCTA hospitals for the manner in which they handled their treatments.
Rakiyah Sulaiman, a police officer, said the doctors and nurses battled very had to save her life as well as gave her attention.
“If by the grace of God, I walk with my two legs, I will return back to this hospital to show my appreciation,” she said.
Recalling her experience on the day of the blast, Rakiyah said she was in a vehicle and heard the blast. “I did not know where to go and just started praying,” she said.
