Chairman of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Abuja Chapter, Dr Tayo Haastrup has called on Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and private organizations in the country to appoint only certified practitioner to head their Public Relations unit.

Haastrup made the call during a courtesy visit to Human Rights Radio yesterday in Abuja.

He said the institute was campaigning against quackery around some organizations and agencies in the FCT.

He also said the institute has written the Corporate Affairs Commission and other related agencies that any organization that appoints quacks against the laws of NIPR must be reversed  or noted in subsequent appointments.

“Any Public relations practitioner that is not a member of NIPR is a quack because the law that set us up has given us the power to regulate the practice here in Nigeria. And we are going round to make a very serious campaign against quackery,  We have gone to some organizations, and we have written to Corporate Affairs Commission and other related agencies that any organization that appoints a Public Relations practitioner that is not accordance with the laws of NIPR must be reversed  or noted in subsequent appointments,” he said

The CEO of the Human Rights Radio Dr Ahmed Isa, said human relations and public relations are key in the development of any society.
