Property owners appeal to FCT minister to correct anomaly

The Chairman of Zaudan Pazeri Property Owners Association, Mr. Friday Ugoala, has urged the Minister of the FCT, Muhammad Musa Bello, to correct the injustice of the past by allowing allotees to develop their lands.

Mr. Ugoala, while addressing journalists, said more than 3,000 plots allocated to mostly traders at the Dei-Dei Building Materials Market were yet to be developed in the Zaudan Pazeri and Filin Dabo layouts.

Ugoala said the layouts, after being statutorily allocated to them, were superimposed on the Federal Capital City thereby denying them access to develop the plots.

He said the case had lasted for more than nine years and that some of the allotees were dead and that those that should have been living in their houses were spending more on rent accommodation.

“We have been pleading that the FCT minister should use his good offices to correct the errors of the past because we believe that this administration will not take part in the injustices.

“We are not asking government to build houses for us; we are only asking that we should possess the plots given to us and those that have building plans should be given approval. Our Certificates of Occupancy (CofO) should be given to us since we have paid,” he said.
