Poser for Bauchi politicians

Dr. Musa Babayo, Talban Katagum who is the Deputy National Secretary, North-East of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has recently been in the spotlight following his decision to pitch tent with Governor Isa Yuguda, an action some of his close associates believe was wrong and capable of impugning on his hard earned integrity.

It is rather unfortunate that the same people who hold Talba very close to their hearts have forgotten how positively he touched their lives in the past.  But the reason for Talba’s support for Governor Isa Yuguda is because the governor, realizing he has slim chances of staging a return to the Bauchi Government House on May 29, 2011, decided to curry Talba’s favour  to break the powerful opposition in Bauchi North,  Dr. Babayo’s home base. This is an area which the embattled governor sees as his Achilles’ heel. It is against this backdrop that Babayo entered into what looks like an agreement with Yuguda to help the governor realize his political ambition.

This agreement did not, however, go down well with the political heavy weights and majority of the masses in Katagum. In addition, the Talba is also alleged to be supporting President Goodluck Jonathan for the April polls. But the era when candidates were imposed on the people has passed, because the people are now becoming wiser and will resist any attempt to impose a candidate on them.
