A former minister of Education, Prof. Tunde Adeniran, has said that political solution remains the best option for resolving the crisis rocking the PDP.
Adeniran, a member of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT), in a statement yesterday in Abuja, said that courts would not solve the party’s leadership logjam.
He therefore called on the PDP founding fathers to work towards realising a political solution rather than the legal tussle currently being pursued by the two political gladiators – Senators Ali Modu Sheriff and Ahmed Makarfi.
“Now, more than ever before, we should all be concerned about democracy and our dear country. Nobody should be under any illusion that the ruling APC will ever change from its mission of dictatorship through deliberate and carefully calculated violations of human rights, the rule of law and democratic processes.
“The future of democracy in Nigeria depends on the PDP’s unity and return to its core values, vision and mission of taking power to the people and saving them from the suffocating grip of anti-democratic forces,” he said.
