A statement by the Force spokesman Frank Mba said among the newly promoted AIGs are AIG Balla M. Nasarawa, who until his promotion was the CP Anambra State command, AIG Edgar Tam Nanakumo acting AIG Zone 12 with headquarters in Bauchi and AIG Mohammed J. Gana who was the CP Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
Also promoted to AIG is AIG Sabo Ringim Ibrahim who was acting AIG, Border Patrol.
The statement said eight Deputy Commissioners of Police are promoted to Commissioners of Police, seven Assistant Commissioners of Police are now Deputy Commissioners and twenty Chief Superintendents are promoted to Assistant Commissioners of Police.
Besides, the IGP has ordered the immediate redeployment sixty-one senior officers to various commands and formations, among whom are some of the newly promoted officers.
