A Niger State High Court has sentenced a 75-year-old visually impaired man to two years imprisonment for defrauding the Federal Government.

The convict, Ndagi Mohammed Abdullahi, who is a retired civil servant, was arraigned along with one Hassan Gulu Hussain by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for alleged pension scam and defrauding government of the sum of N1.6 million.

Upon the guilty plea of Abdullahi, the judge, Justice Aisa Bawa Bwari, sentenced him to two years imprisonment with an option of N200,000 fine.

However, trial has been fixed for November 21 for Hussaini who pleaded not guilty to the charge.
