Azazi who spoke on the second day of the South- South Economic Summit in Asaba, Delta State, said the party’s system of zoning which he said is not in the constitution is also adding to the level of insecurity being experienced across the land.

“I want to say that PDP got it wrong from the beginning by saying that Mr. B can rule and Mr. B cannot rule, according to PDP conventions or rules and regulations, and not according to the constitution. This created the climate for what we have witnessed in the society,” the NSA stressed.

Azazi said the insecurity problem cannot be solved by mere arresting of Boko Haram sect leaders as many Nigerians have advocated, noting that addressing the security challenges currently facing the country require collective action by all.

He said contrary to the belief that they are illiterate, there are members of the sect that are well educated, stressing that some persons actually created the environment for it to thrive.

The NSA also blamed the hoarding of sensitive information from security agencies in the country for the escalation of violence but said there has also been a politicisation of the security problem.

He said if people had been giving information to security agencies in the past, the current wave of terrorism in the northern part of the country would not have festered as it would have been nipped in the bud.
