Other members of the committee are vegetable farmers and export merchants. Each party is to be represented by two members.
They made this resolution at a workshop hosted by nahco aviance for stakeholders in the agro-allied export business. At the workshop titled “Stakeholders’ workshop on addressing challenges in export of horticulture products from Nigeria” which took place in Lagos recently, the Executive Director of NEPC, Mr. Olusegun Awolowo, said the body had to be part of the workshop in collaboration with other bodies such as nahco aviance, Nigerian Agricultural Quarantine Services (NAQS) and Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives because of the visit made to nahco aviance and NAQS by the officials of the council. The NEPC boss, represented by Mr. Mathew Iranloye, the Acting Director of Market Development, said the visit to nahco aviance was to acquaint the council with the workings of the two organisations with a view to assessing how their operations could help facilitate the body’s efforts at galvanising Nigerian exporters of foods towards servicing the growing demands of the European Union and United States of America markets for fresh and processed food items from Africa.
