The senator representing Cross River South in the Senate, Gershom Bassey (PDP), has  said President Muhammadu Buhari’s frequent foreign trips do not violate any part of the constitution.
Justifying the trips, the senator said Nigerians should only begin to complain when the president’s travels did not follow due process.
Speaking in Calabar at the weekend, Bassey said, “if he (Buhari) is supposed to travel with two aircraft but he decided to travel with 10 aircraft, then may be the Senate and Nigerians can ask why.
“But as long as he has not violated any part of the constitution, and his travels are yielding results, I do not think there is cause for complain.
“It will be foolhardy for our president to sit down here in Nigeria and not to interact with other nations on economic and other matters that will be of good interest to the people of Nigeria.
“Even President Obama of the US moves around. He does not stay in America thinking that all is well,” he said.
