Former Governor of Delta State, Chief James Ibori, who regained his freedom from jail term in London arrived Oghara his hometown enroute Benin airport at 2:30pm in a chattered aircraft on Saturday, leaving the mammoth awaiting his arrival at Osubi airport stranded in consternation.

Osubi airport, as early as 9am wore the ambience of festivities and was crowded to capacity with Deltans and well wishers from all walks of life who had come to felicitate with the former Governor who was incarcerated in the United kingdom for over eight years, but they were disappointed as he later landed at the Benin airport over excuses of bad weather.

The man was chaffeur-driven into a jubilant Oghara town, headquarters of Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta Stateat about 3.30pm in a long convey by a long standing political aide and Delta State Commissioner of Environment. Hon John Nani, accompanied by his family members, political associates and friends.

Former member Delta State State House of Assembly and presently Chairman of Sapele Local Government council, Chief  Ejaife Odebala in an ecstatic reaction "The great leader is back and we are happy. The politics and permutationsnof Delta State would change as he knows how to satisfy people and make them happy".

Like Odebala, the cream of mainstream politicians in Delta State strongly believe that the return of Ibori is widely believed to open a new political chapter that would provide political direction to the urhobos and Delta State as his teeming cult-like supporters hold the position that wherever he goes, the urhobos and Deltans will follow him.

"Am overwhelmed with the arrival of the doyen of Nigeria politics and Delta State in particular because is one man who plays politics for the benefit of his people. And the best politicians in the world are those who plays politics of development.

"His return to delta State is more of interest to deltans as a whole weather PDP or APC. I don’t ascribe Ibori arrival to the benefit of urhobos alone but the full state as a whole. His arrival has proof
that God is good", exclaimed former Governorship Delta State aspirant, Chief Sunny Onuesoke.

On his part, former Secretary of the State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Chief Andy Asavwota said; "Ibori is the man on ground, either here or in limbo, he has affected all and takes everybody along without discrimination. He is just like Jesus Christ because he is a man who does not want anyone to suffer.

"With his coming around, the politics in our polity here would change. If not the ganging up at the first instance when he was looking up to the vice presidency, it would have been a different ball game entirely", Asawota, who was onetime Ibori’s legal counsel enthused.

He continued: "We made his arrival lowkey and by the time the whole of Delta knows he is in town, the entire state would erupt in jubilation. As for Ogboru, he has never had a political fortune in Delta Central, with Ibori’s coming, its 100 percent for PDP in the state".

A Member of the State House of Assembly, Mr Alphonsus Ojo on said: "I feel very much elated and feel like break dancing because he is not just a former Governor, but our maximum political leader. His arrival would bring lots of changes in our psych and social integration which would be restored again as it was when he was around. His
arrival would bring unity to the politics of Delta State.

The crop of legislators drawn from Urhobo extraction of the State, namely Olorogun Taleb Tebite, Chief Solomon Ighrakpata, and Chief Denis Omovie, who spoke to journalists at Oghara said the return of Chief James Onanefe Ibori would redefine the politics of the State, as Ibori remains the champion resource control and people empowerment in the politics of Delta State.

Also, the member representing Okpe state constituency in the House of Assembly, Chief Sheriff Oborevwori
said; "his return is a welcome development. I am glad that our leader is back to the country. The good works of Chief James Onanefe Ibori still speak volume after leaving office almost 10 years ago".

Musicians and entertainers were not left out in the jubilation that welcomed Ibori to his hometown as the Delta State Chairman of Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria, PMAN, Evangelist Quincy Tebite said:; "I feel great and overwhelmed with joy having him back.

Indeed his return back certainly would bring a positive change in this present change in Delta state and Urhobo nations politics respectively.The long awaited relief we have over the years prayed for has now come upon his return back".
