Ogbomosho residents in Kafanchan, Jema’a local government area of Kaduna State, have resolved to partner with all stakeholders in the area to promote peace and unity amongst diverse ethics and religious groups in the area.
Mr James Adetunji, Chairman of Ogbomosho Association in Kafanchan stated during a gathering of members of the association in commemoration of “Nigeria at 59”.
Adetunji, who commended Jema’a Emirate Council for carrying all ethnic groups within its domain along, pledged the association’s resolve to contribute its quota in strengthening peace and unity in the area.
“This meeting is meant to keep closer ties amongst Ogbomosho residents in Kafanchan and also acknowledge and identify with the efforts of the host community in creating a conducive environment for peace to thrive,” he said.
Alhaji Ibrahim Salahudeen, a member of the association, who was born and lived for over 50 years in Kafanchan, tasked Nigerians to discard religious and ethnic sentiments.
“We must do away with religious and ethnic affiliation and unanimously work towards consolidating the efforts of the government towards enshrining peaceful coexistence for development to thrive,” he said.
Also, Mr Joel Adegboyenga, Secretary of the Association said the meeting, which was part of the efforts to keep the legacy of their forefathers also identified the significance and role of the youths as key players.
