A nurse working with the Gombe State Government was abducted at the early hours of Tuesday morning by alleged hoodlums.
Daily Trust learnt that the nurse, Ephraim Ajuji, who works at a Cottage Hospital in Dadin Kowa town of Yamaltu Deba LGA of the state, was abducted by the hoodlums armed with Dane guns.
The state’s Commissioner of Police, Mr Olukolu Tairu Shina, who confirmed the incident said, the nurse was kidnapped when the hoodlums numbering about seven invaded his house around 3:30am.
He disclosed that the State Intelligence Bureau (SIB) in collaboration with other sister security agencies as well as members of a vigilante group operating in the area, have swung into action to apprehend the suspected criminals.
"Police and other security agencies are now tracking the criminals in the surrounding bush and we believe that they will be arrested eventually and the nurse will be released unharmed," he said.
