The Edo State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) appeals to the electorate not to allow the postponement of the gubernatorial election to dampen their enthusiasm.
The election was shifted from September 10 to September 28 by the INEC.
A statement issued by the publicity secretary of the APC in the state, Comrade Godwin Erhahon, said that the November 12 handover date by Governor Adams Oshiomhole to his elected successor cannot be shifted.
“The mischievous insinuations by mean propagandists that the postponement was influenced by APC should be ignored as it does not confer any special advantage on the ruling party,” it said.
“As a progressive administration, APC-led Edo State Government has performed to the unprecedented benefit of the people within the limit of its lean resources.”
He said that the fruits of good governance would give APC victory, adding that the party believed that Edo people would not reject the light which the APC offered them.
“Whoever has anything against our governor, in spite of his excellent performance so far, should realize that the Comrade has played his part and must quit the stage on November 12.”
