Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Israel Ebije, in a statement called on people of the state to discountenance accusations by the opposition, saying “they are aimed at scoring cheap political mileage”.
The spokesman recalled that the opposition quoted the governor out of context, adding that Governor Babangida Aliyu’s position on some of his Special Advisers not doing their bits, was only aimed at encouraging the newly sworn in advisers to sustain service delivery.
Ebije added that the governor has since sacked unproductive advisers and that an earlier statement by the opposition spokesman did not take cognizance of actual facts on ground.
“It is very sad that the opposition allows itself to be misled by self seeking individuals only interested in profiting from cheap blackmail. It is a known fact that the Niger State governor has zero tolerance for unproductive members of the cabinet and he was only charging the newly sworn in Special Advisers to work harder,” he said.
