An Akwa Ibom State indigenous group, the Esu Nlap Oron, has expressed support for the nomination of Mr. Nsima Ekere as the managing director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
President Muhammadu Buhari on July 20 nominated Ekere as Managing Director of the NDDC. But the appointments have been criticized by some groups.
In a statement over the weekend signed by Ulap Joseph Okon and Ulap Victor Joe, its international president and secretary respectively and made available to newsmen in Abuja, the Oron group said “Mr. Ekere’s nomination was as a result of his sense of duty and integrity as well as the confidence reposed in him by President Buhari.”
