Senator Sabo Mohammed Nakudu, has been declared as the flag bearer of APC for Jigawa central Senatorial District after polling 1,117 votes in a keenly contested election.
Nakudu, who is a serving senator defeated his opponent Yusuf Shitu Galambi, who scored 1,012 votes.
The former Inspector General of Police (IGP), Suleman Abba, would have been the third person in the contest but report indicated that the former number cop, was disqualified by his party.
Announcing the result of the election, Ambaye Attahiru Isa, said a total of 2,219 delegates were accredited and total votes of 2,195 were casted.
He added that there was a total number of 2,182 valid votes while 13 were found to be invalid.
According to him, Nakudu defeated Galambi, who was the former member of House of representative.
