Mr Yekini Nabena, APC Deputy National Publicity Secretary, has said the ruling party lost the governorship rerun elections in Bauchi, Sokoto and Adamawa states due to massive rigging, violence, and vote-buying.
Nabena, who spoke during an interview with journalists, yesterday in Abuja, said the party would reclaim its stolen mandate through the tribunals.
The APC chieftain, who raised some questions regarding the credibility of the recent governorship rerun elections held in Bauchi, Sokoto, Adamawa states, said they fell short of the minimum standard.
He said the rerun elections were not conducted in line with the laid down rules and regulations of the INEC.
“Following a review of the governorship re-run elections in Bauchi, Sokoto and Adamawa states, it is evident that massive rigging, thuggery and vote-buying characterised the exercise.
“It should be noted that while the APC has over two third of the members of the State House of Assembly in Bauchi and a clear majority in Sokoto State from the governorship elections, the re-run were rigged and conducted without regard to laid down rules and regulations of INEC,” Nabena said.
