A Motorcyclist and Nine passengers of a vehicle died in two separate road accidents in Bauchi.

The two separate accidents involved two motor vehicles and a motorcycle.

A statement by the Bauchi State police command spokesperson, SP Haruna Mohammed stated that the first accident occurred near VIO office along Bauchi -Jos road.

According to the statement, the accident involved a Honda accord car with registration number GME-762-HP driven by a soldier attached to 301 Brigade Gombe, Capt I. D Ekpo 

It added that the soldiers vehicle Tyre bursted, he lost control and hit a maroon coloured Boxer motorcycle with Reg No FNN355Q-An.

The statement added that as a result, the rider, Muddafa kabiru of Nasarawa Jahun, Bauchi and his passenger Hanifa Abdulaziz of Yelwan makaranta sustained various degrees of injuries.

The victims were rushed to ATBU Teaching Hospital Bauchi for treatment by the Police Patrol Team attached to GRA Division which visited the scene.

However, the motorcycle rider was certified dead on arrival by a medical doctor while his passenger sustained a fracture and is currently on admission responding to treatment. 

The Corpse of the motorcycle was released to relatives for burial according to Islamic rites after postmortem examination.

In another incidence, there was a lone fatal motor vehicle accident on the same day involving a Commercial Hummer Bus with registration number FKA -328 XA conveying 22 passengers.

According to the statement, the accident occured along Azare- Bulkachuwa road when the driver, Garba Mohammed of Ndiski ward, Potiskum was on speed and the rear tyre bursted and the vehicle somersaulted and crashed inside the bush. 

"As a result, victims sustained various degrees of injuries. 
Police Patrol Team attached to Azare Division visited the scene and rushed casualties to Federal medical Centre Azare for treatment where Nine passengers, including the driver certified dead on arrival while thirteen others are responding to treatment,"it stated.

The statement informed that the Corpses have been deposited at the public mortuary for postmortem examination while efforts are being intensified to identify and get in touch with relatives of the victims.
