The main draws for the tournament which serves off today has seven other qualifiers from the preliminaries who will be joined by four wild card players to battle the invited 20 players for the title at stake in the Men’s singles event.
To book their places in the main draws Tswako Abubakar defeated Madueke Kingsley 6-1, 7-5; Emmanuel Sylvester walloped Leo Anthony 6-2, 6-2 while Iloputa Ikechukwu saw off Abamu Collins who lost 6-4, 7-5.
In the other results, Mbanu Onyeka defeated Okechukwu Micheal 6-1, 6/1, Ebuka Benjamin sent home Abamu Martins 6-4, 6-3, Auka Benson also won 6-0, 7/5 against Kolade Sunday, just as Hamidu Abdullahi  defeated Akinbode Pekun 6-2, 6-2.
Meanwhile the organisers of the tournament yesterday released the list of the twelve seeded players in the tourney with the defending champion Enosoregbe Clifford occupying the first place in the men singles event with Adegoke Sarah rated top in the Women singles.
For the men, Babalola Abdulmumuni was seeded number two, Atseye Henry in the third place, former champion of the tournament  Shehu Lawal is fourth, Otu John is fifth, Otu Thomas got the sixth mention with Madueke Nonso and Imeh Joseph were seeded seventh and eight respectively.
For the ladies the defending champion Samuel Blessing was ranked number two with Agugbom Christy and Akingbade Ronke seeded third and fourth respectively.
