The excitement reached a crescendo when the crowd cheered endlessly as one of the N1 Million winners in the promo, Salihu Bello, declared that he won the prize money just 40 days to his wedding which he had no money to fund.
 Bello, who received the cheque of N1 million from the Senior Special assistant to the Kaduna State Governor on Special Duties, Deacon Dariye Sambo, at a ceremony held in front of Makarfi Plaza on the busy Ahmadu Bello Way, said that but for the benevolence of the giant telecommunications outfit, Globacom, his wedding plans were in jeopardy due to lack of funds.
 “I was very excited when I was called and informed that I won N1 million. it is a miracle and God sent because the information came 40 days to my wedding and I had no money. Now, I can go ahead with the wedding plans and from this money, I will buy keke NAPEP for my mother, give N200,000 to my father and and use the rest for my wedding. I am also using this opportunity to invite Glo to my wedding,” the elated Bello enthused.
 Also beaming with smiles while receiving his N1 million, another winner, Suleiman Musa, said that but for Globacom, he had never owned up to N500,000 in his life and thanked the company for “changing my life and making me a young millionaire”.
 During the presentation ceremony, Danladi Aye, a Kaduna Polytechnic student, Bature Abdulahi, a civil servant, Jatau Salome, a Restaurantee and Aliu  Mubarak, a student collected N25,000 cheque each just as Ibrahim Wosila, a student, Abodunrin Mukaila, a Kano based technician and Abdulbasit Suleiman, a businessman collected N10,000 each. Wosila, a student, said that she would use the money to complete her project and thanked Globacom for the prize.
 
Jatau said that he initially ignored the call when he was informed of his winning, “but I came all the way from Abuja today to collect the cheque and I will use the money to recharge my phone so that I can win N5 million”.
 
In his remarks at the ceremony, the Senior Special Asistant to the Kaduna State Government on Special Duties, Deacon Sambo, said that it was exciting to witness the event.
 
“ I must thank Glo for inviting us to witness this great event. It is exciting and very encouraging to note that Glo is empowering a lot of young people and making them to become young entrepreneurs because the owner of Glo started from somewhere. We are happy at what Glo is doing and we encourage the company to continue in that regard”, he said.
 
Welcoming guests to the occassion, Globacom’s Divisional Director, Kano Division, Mr. Olusegun Adeyemo, said that the Glo Recharge 2 stardom Promotion “is a way of giving back to our numerous subscribers as we celebrate our 10th year anniversary”.
