Adedeji and three others are standing trial for the murder of Anwal Shanono, a 500-level medical student of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
The suspect, who was not in court when the case was mentioned along with Akinwumi Adisa, Olamide Oladeji and Tajudeen Arowotosuna are facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, murder and unlawful possession of arms.
The defence counsel, Kazeem Oyesola, had told the court that Adedeji was not in court because he was not brought by the prison authorities. Consequently, the judge, Justice Muktar Abimbola, adjourned the case to Dec. 9 and ordered that a warrant should be issued and served on the prisons to produce Adedeji on that day.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Kofo Oguntoyibo, told the court that the suspects conspired and murdered Shanono on June 4, 2011.
She said that the offence was committed at about 9.30 p.m. at Total Filling Station, Iwo Road, Ibadan, adding that one of the suspects, Adedeji was also caught with substance suspected to be Indian hemp. Oguntoyibo said the offences committed by the suspects contravened Sections 324, 316 and 5(1) of the Criminal Code Cap 38 Vol. II Laws of Oyo Sate, 2000.
The three suspects present in court pleaded not guilty to the charges. (NAN)
