The Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) has raised concern about increasing number of medical graduates enlisting for mandatory one year NYSC without proper registration to practice as doctors.
MDCN registrar, Abdulmumini Ibrahim said the council had received complaints about medical graduates who were drafted into the national youth service on the “strength of receipt of payment of application fee for full registration.”
Addressing the press in Abuja yesterday, Ibrahim said the council had communicated the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to warn the practice should be discontinued.
