Speaking yesterday in Abuja at the inauguration of the Joint National Team of NMC-NATCOM-UNESCO, Prof Solarin said the UNESCO chair programme would assist the center in preparing and submitting a detailed project proposal in connection with the UNITWIN/UNESCO chairs in Mathematics and Physics to the Director General of UNESCO.
He tasked the UNESCO regional office, NATCOM-UNESCO as well as the center to be devoted to the programme and ensure that the guidelines and that constitutes basic rules are carefully followed to maximize the full benefits of the programme. The Programme Officer of the Science of the UNESCO Abuja regional office Dr. Osuji Otu said the chair programme was important as it would help in boosting students and teachers performances in science subjects through committed partnership of the center and UNESCO.
