A marriage counsellor Mrs Anzaku Celestina has authored a book on marriage.

She said the book was imperative as she urged Nigerian couples to adopt friendship in their marriages in other to avoid marital strife and the high rate of divorce in the country.

The book titled ‘Issues affecting Christian marriage in the Nigerian terms’ comprises nine chapters.

Anzaku said she was inspired to write the book from her several decades of personal experience in marriage and to enable others, particularly young people, learn from it.

She said, “friendship is lacking in so many marriages in the country today, especially Christian marriages.”

“Even those who have married already and their marriage is suffering can pick one or two lessons to improve their marriage.

“With the way marriage is being affected in Nigeria and high rate of divorce, the book will go a long way to turn lives around, and teach them what God plans for a good marriage.”

Former Minister of Environment, and mother of the day, Laurencia Mallam, said the book is timely because of the situation of many marriages in society.

“The home is like a domestic church, when there is peace, it affects the whole country. But when there is insecurity in the home, it also affects the entire society,” she said.

Dr Julius Bala said the author of the book brought her Christian upbringing to bear in writing the book.

He added that the book would enlighten people on the realities of marriage.
