Majority of the masses of Sokoto state are excluded from decision making process especially political appointments and the blame can only be put on elites and god-fatherism.
Majority of Sokoto citizens have been marginalized in the scheme of things through the selfish attitude of main stream politicians.
We the Sokoto people in Abuja also wish to express support for Hajya Aisha Abubakar as the Sokoto state’s ministerial nominee in the Buhari administration, and condemn in totality the description of her nomination as injustice by APC leaders in Sokoto.
Aisha Abubakar, who has already been screened by the Senate, is definitely the vehicle Buhari needs and we assure the President that she has the needed support base from Sokoto people whose story will soon change with her appointment.
President Buhari, who is well known for his selflessness and strict upholding of law, is also well experienced on who to choose to assist him run his administration.
We wish to state categorically that none of the erstwhile ministers from Sokoto has helped Sokoto people apart from Bello Suleiman who had helped a lot of youths from the state to gain employment.
The patient people of Sokoto are fully behind Aisha’s nomination, which he described as a call to service, and are confident that she will succeed more than past ministers from the zone just as we are confident of Buhari’s sense of judgement.
As concerned citizens of the state, we want to voice out that Sokoto  is a centre of jurisprudence where morality takes lead in all its dealings and style of governance.
We hereby restate that the nomination of ministers is the constitutional responsibility of the President and no other office holder.
Alhaji Abubakar Mohammed Abu Abuja, on behalf of Sokoto Indigenes Residing in Abuja
