Before the burial, a funeral prayer was led by the Chief Imam of Kano State, Professor Sani Zahradeen, at the emir’s palace.
The remains of the deceased were brought to the palace around 2.30pm from Abuja in a State House ambulance with registration number SH 672.
Dignitaries at the funeral prayer included the Emir of Kano Muhammad Sanusi II, Secretary to the Kano State Government Alhaji Rabiu Suleiman Bichi who represented the Kano State governor, the Dan Masanin Kano Alhaji Maitama Sule and former Inspector General of Police Alhaji Ibrahim Coomassie. Others were Alhaji Bahsir Tofa, Kano famous cleric Sheikh Isyaka Rabiu and retired General Haliru Akilu among others.
