Late arrival of election materials to polling stations has delayed commencement of voting in Kano state council elections.
According to the Chairman, Kano State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC), Professor Garba Ibrahim Sheka, the voting would start at 8am.
However, our correspondent observed that election materials have not been taken to the polling stations in time.
At Giginyu ward in Nasarawa local government area of the state, voters arrived at the polling unit as early as 8am, but up till 9:30am election materials were not brought to the area.
The situation was the same at Badawa Primary school polling unit where voters were seen waiting for election materials.
At Tarauni Garden polling unit, only few voters were seen seated under trees, while election materials were not supplied to the area.
When our correspondent visited the Headquarters of the KANSIEC around 10:30am, found the commission’s personnel busy loading election materials on buses for onward distribution to various polling stations.
