They alleged that the death was caused by officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASMA).
A witness said trouble started from the Second Rainbow bus stop area on the Oshodi Apapa expressway when a commercial bus driver in an attempt to flee from LASMA men ran over his conductor. He said the death of the boy attracted sympathy from members of the NURTW who alleged that the LASMA men only wanted to extort money from the driver.
“Some area boys quickly mobilised some commercial buses and took the corpse of the boy from Second Rainbow area where the incident occurred to Cele. There, armed with dangerous weapons, they went after the LASMA men and damaged the windscreens of vehicles,” he said.
