He attributed this to poor security, finances and dilapidated infrastructure which slowed down economic growth.
Speaking with newsmen in Ilorin, the KWACCIMA President called on government to address the challenges in order to enable small businesses to flourish.
He recalled that the year 2013 was challenging for all chambers of commerce and many businesses in Nigeria.
“Poor economic environment characterised the economy and this, coupled with poor security, dealt negatively with economic drive and employment generation.
“The absence of necessary infrastructure and little or no access to finance were also hindrances to economic growth,” he said, adding that members of the chamber have been more diligent and hard-working to sustain their businesses.
