Addressing thousands of worshippers at Katsina Central Mosque before observing Juma’at prayer, Usman said Nigeria was in dire need of prayers from its citizens.
“The state of insecurity in the nation is alarming and only prayers can bail the country out of its present predicaments of insecurity,” said the emir.
He said the plea became necessary because the current insecurity situation in Nigeria needed holistic approach, hence the need for fervent prayers by all Nigerians.
He added that, “without peace and unity, we cannot go to school, we cannot gather here to pray, we cannot carry out our businesses and we cannot even sleep at home.”
Emir Usman therefore called on Islamic scholars across the nation and the entire Muslim Ummah to devote time for prayers for the restoration of peace and unity in the country.
On Kano bomb blasts, the emir described the attacks as unfortunate, saying “the Kano bomb attacks have touched the minds of Nigerians because anything that affects Kano indeed affects the entire nation.”
