The group which held the rally under the umbrella of Kano Civil Society read a message from Grace Machel Mandela to the Nigerian government.
“I am a parent and so I stand among you holding your hands in pain and anguish in solidarity. The Nigerian government has a responsibility to protect its citizens, and keep them safe,” Mandela said.
“We demand alongside you the parents, that the Nigerian government does everything in its power to locate all the girls, make sure they are safe, and bring them back home,” she added.
