The first was the N1 billion Central Bank of Nigerian’s loan under the commercial agriculture development project of the apex bank.
The second fold of the agriculture loan benefited by Kano farmers, according to the commissioner, was that from the N2 billion agriculture loan under the Commercial Agriculture Credit Scheme initiated by the federal government where farmers in the state accessed loans for commercial agricultural purposes.
The commissioner added that there is an ongoing N2 billion agricultural loan under collaborative measures of counter funding processes through a collaboration loan scheme between the Bank of Agriculture and Kano State government.
He added that under the scheme, Kano State provided the sum of N1 billion while the Bank of Agriculture also provided N1 billion making up the N2 billion currently utilised under the scheme.
