The Nasarawa State Chapter of the Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) yesterday commenced an indefinite strike over unpaid salaries.
The Chairman of the chapter, Jemo Musa, told newsmen in Lafia that the strike became imperative because workers were being owed two months’ salaries.
Musa said the union resorted to strike after several meetings with the state government failed to resolve the issues.
“We have been patient with the government. On Tuesday, we embarked on a peaceful protest to the office of the chief judge of the state. We told him that if we did not start receiving alerts yesterday, all courts in the state would be shot down today.”
