The President of the Court of Appeal (PCA), Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa has stressed the importance of in-depth knowledge of the financial system by justices of the court.
Justice Bulkachuwa, who spoke yesterday at the opening of the sensitization seminar for justice of the Court of Appeal in Abuja, said such knowledge will help the judges with the task of interpretation of the laws and adjudicating of financial disputes.
In his keynote address, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), Alhaji Umaru Ibrahim assured that the corporation would not relent in its collaboration with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and other agencies in the financial sector to minimize the occurrence of unlawful dealings.
He noted that management of the defunct Skye Bank Plc, now Polaris Bank, are being investigated with a view to prosecuting those found wanting.
