A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) bigwig in Jigawa State and four-term member of the State House of Assembly, Rabi’u Dangabi, yesterday defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Dangabi, spoke about his defection shortly after the APC stakeholders meeting in Dutse, saying the decision was an honour that he must accord to his friends and political associates who invited him to the party.
He said apart from honouring their invitation to join the party, he was convinced that the APC-led government in the state had done credibly well within the short period it was in power.
“My defection to the APC is as a result of calls from the party, my supporters, friends and well-wishers.
“After wide consultations, I decided to join the APC along with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairman of my area.
“I am satisfied with the changes brought by the present administration both at the national and state levels,” he said.
