Al-Fattah Islamic Welfare Foundation (AIWELF) has distributed writing and learning souvenirs to pupils at its 2021 annual educational supports programme in Lagos.
AIWELF said it has been registered with the Federal Government Corporate Affairs Commission to fulfill its humanitarian and educational assistance to poor pupils and students, especially those at the level of primary and secondary classes.
The chairman of the foundation, Amidu Adewale Monsuru, said the foundation has always fulfilled its humanitarian drive despite the enormous challenges it has in executing its mission to encourage the poor students academically.
“You can see that our program is not for Muslims alone, the Christians and even non-believers have been benefitting from the foundation. You will see Ijaiye Ojokoro will be a peaceful place if we have many more of this type of co-existent programme that bring the Muslims, Christians and others together. We will not have any religious crisis and we shall be living in peace,” he said.
The Chairman of the occasion and the district overseer of the First Square Gospel Church in Nigeria, Agbado, Reverend Julius Olugbenga Ajogbeje, said: “This is the first time I have been invited to a programme like this, and I have discovered that the society needs more of this for us to work and stay together in unity, peace, and in love because the foundation has been doing what God expects every mankind to do by touching the lives of poor people around us.
“I want the government to emulate this initiative, because rather than promoting disunity let us promote love and unity.”
